Lazy swim out to Little Green Carrs, acompanied by more ballen wrasse, lots of pipefish, edible crabs, and lobster, a nice chilled scenic dive. am a bit leg heavy so might look at moving weight up from the weight belt to the integrated. A really good ferret through the shoreside of the rocks in the harbour.

Really low tide, surface swan out to cathedral rock, descent and followed a reel line to the archway, played with some ballen wrasse for a few minutes, and then swan through the arch and beyond, and beyond! Saw edible crabs, lobster, a massive pollack, school sof pollack, and a big big scorpionfish. Loads of soft corals, didn't quite make it back to the entry point! And surfaced halfway to Ebb Carss, but a good dive, very relaxed, and nice to follow for a change!

Headed out of Sheep Head Hole, buoyancy was ok, out past scott's rock, and beyond! Missed cathedral rock completely got quite disorientated, and had to resort to compass use! Found a line of pots and followed that for a bit, saw some large edible crabs, pete found a pipefish, and then beared west to hit shore .. somewhere .. had been flat and 16m for sometime, and then came to some big rocks which was reassuring! Did a 5min safety at 5ish with four or five ballan wrasse investigating. Surfaced just on the outside of scott's rock so not a million miles away from home. Good dive. And happy not to get a bend!

Descent and headed out to sea, slightly underweighted, at the end of the channel turned right, and did a drif dive along the seaward side. Saw lobsters, crabs, squat lobsters, then came in to the amphitheatre, where we discovered that cuckoo wrasse don't like bread! Then a meander back int shore through the sandy patch, quite lucky with the navigational choices! Need 14kg of weight not 12kg!

Descent down the shot to the turrets, a bit misleading as the shot split in two (slack and tight), and then joined back together again! Went to the floor, and looked inside the turret, could see down another 10-15 metres, which was pretty cool. Then did a spiralling ascent around and back up to the shot, and up. Short and Sweet!

Descent down the shot to about 20m, then onto the deckside and headed towards the bows rising slowly towards the deck rail and the hull. Saw the twisted anchor chain, and the foreward torpedo room blast area, saw a pollack, and an edible crab, and in places the hull was coated in brittle stars making it look hairy!

Descent down the shot to the lifeboat davit, then down to the bridge, had a look at that and the mast, and on towards the two 5.9" guns onto the capstans, and into a slight o/h at the bows. Saw a Ling and a massiveedible crab, then back along the centre line to the coal holds, slight penetration, and up to the top rail for a bimble until up time!

High tide, easy entry, did a clockwise loop of seagull rock, saw flounder, pipefish, scorpionfish, lobsters, crabs, and had a good look in the cleft - very dark! good viz

Into the water, out along the harbour wall, finding depth. turned right around a rock, and did a drift, looking at some lobster pots, saw a scorpion fish, and somecod. Good Dive, a little easy to get lost!

Entry difficult due to low tide, swam out and hit cathedral rock on teh outbound leg, saw the double arch, swam through and looped back in again. Saw nudibranchs, pipefish, and other fish i have no idea about, several shoals too.

Assist with Drysuit Spec, Hose disconnection, and replacement. Then a fun dive, saw pipefish, and lobsters in the rocks

Asist with Drysuit Spec, students did fin pivot, hover, belt and kit removal. NB hoses, and correct buddy check

Descended, and swam out on a bearing of 120, past some rocks, and looped around, ended up coming back in through the arch. Picked up a few shells and saw a seal at the end on a rock. Cool Arch, Quite Gloomy, saw a Ling!

Free descent onto the reef, swam into the current for a bit, and then did a drift dive back, then closed over to the shore side, and poked about there for a bit. A very chilled dive, squat lobster, lobster, butter fish, goby, nudibranchs and their nests, very good dive!

Descent from harbour wall, swam out to the sandy area, then tried a bearing of 210 but went straight to the harbour wall! Surfaced, had a look around, and then went in a sensible direction! Quite a surge found a rock with sponges, cuckoo, and ballan wrasse, a crawfish, and crabs. got a little lost but found the way home ok due to a landmark of kelp! probably actually dived between Broad Craig and Scott's Rock.

Descent with Kenny and Ash, let them lead, very fast finning!! Saw clams, most of the usual crabs, and a banded pipefish. A bit of a rushed dive, but all good, muddy bottom with quite a few burrowed edible crabs

Descent down onto a boulder field, turning into a sandy silty bottom, saw crabs, langoustines (very black eyes) edible crabs, clams, and a baby octopus as we came up to the saftey stop. Got left behind by the boat, as it started to disappear around a headland, it turned around and came back for us, only a 20 minute wait!!

Descent down the shot line, and headed to depth, and the wall. cruised along and saw some very large edible crabs, came across a flat scallop bed where the scallops kept kicking off and flying about, very cool! Young porpoises on the surface

Descent into the murk, cleared up at about 10m, to about 10m viz. swam left to the wall, and saw edible crabs, butter fish, squat lobsters, swimming crabs, and wrasse, torch was def required as it was very dark!

Descent onto a wall drift dive, very cool, i definately like drift dives! Saw lots of sponges, some very large crabs, deployed smb at 10m to let the boat know where we were so that we didn't drift out of site around the island. Seals on the surface while we waited for the boat to pick us up!

Descended down to depth, and investigated the sandy bottom, found a scallop partially buried in the sand, edible crabs, squat lobsters. Well executed smb, and safety stop!

Viz closed in a bit and was a block and kelp dive with loads of sea urchins. Quite scenic, saw dolphins on the way home on the boat.

Descent down, did a wall dive, saw the dual anemones, really scenic with a big drop off, saw a flatfish (flounder?) nice nice dive, edible crabs good smb etc

Wall dive, saw a dogfish at the start and found an old lobster pot, then came up into the shallows and played around in the kelp, saw a few large lionsmane jellyfish

Wall dive, crap green viz down to about 10m then opened up to about 5m, swam along quite happily saw an edible crab, lots of kelp, and a bright red cushion star. Saw a seal on the surface before the dive. Screwed up the SMB deployment, and ascended a bit too quickly without a safety had been at 7m for some time though.

Slight difficulty on descent, got bumped by the boat at 1m, and nearly got caught in the prop. Dived on and around a seamount, very strong down current on the leeward side. Saw lots of starfish, brittles, sponges, squat lobsters and assorted crabs. Good deploy of SMB!

Same as before following the DS Spec, very useful to see from the instructor POV. Adopted a slightly shallower cruise depth - as well given the amount of silt that waskicked up! Fun dive, bladder issues #2!

Tagged along with the drysuit speciality students as there as no one to buddy up with. Good insight to the DM course. Amazing how bad the viz got, how quickly i got cold, just kneeling, which was trickier than expected! Had to surface before the student for an emergency pee, and to set up the BBQ!

Back to the platform and out to the beams again. Saw a fair amount of life, velvet swimming crabs, scallop, scorpionfish, swimming crabs, leopard blenny, butterfish. Has a stone in my fin pocket, so took the fin off to displace it. Ascended feet first from 3m, just for the hell of it!

Descent onto the platform, quick loop and then down tot eh aframes, then kept the depth, and came back to the ladders and the toilets, then came up the slope to the platform depth, contoured to it, and then came up through the shallows.

Swam out to seagull rock, ad then attempted a box nav out to sea. Failed - oops my bad! Saw baby cuttlefish, big sea snails, and loads of pipefish, wrasse, lobster, and edible crabs. While lost on the sandy bottom cames across, an edible crab graveyard, probably dumped from a boat! Then a bloody long surface swim back to the shore!

Looped the rock anticlockwise, found a sandy trench full of life, saw lobsters, squat lobsters, swimming crabs, edible crabs, a solitary cuckoo wrasse, and a pair of ballen wrasse - lots of crabs and urchins. Air ok, dived with 8kg, was ok, until the end when i struggled to stay down shallower than 5m

Good Good Dive. Descended down the shot line into the open hold. Swam through debris within the hull. Saw a conger eel, lobster, edible crab, did a ltd penetration, and went to the bows. A good lead by Andy, looped and returned to midships and ascended.

Descent onto the bows on the shot line, did a swim through the bow section, at a fairly low level, then looped the bow and ascended the port side onto and across the deck. Saw a spider crab, then did a few more swim throughs on the island, and went into the helicopter bay, and back down the starboard side. Ascended the chain on the bows, attached an smb, surfaced, and then took a rope back down and attached a permanent marker buoy.

Very lazy dive, just poking about the gullies, saw conger, squid eggs - hang like candles in sheltered areas. Saw a few spider crabs, and dogfish, and lots of large sea urchins, definitely lampshade material! Stayed down until approached NDL, then surfaced. Good air consumption.

Descent down shotline onto the bows of the ship. Worked around the bows to the port side, then cut across deck to the starboard side. Quite a cross current, looped the deck, and went onto the helicopter deck, and into the helicopter bay, and exited through a side hatch, then did a slow ascent while looping the upper parts of the structure, until we got up to the bridge. Then went to the stern shot and ascended. Spent the duration of the dive desperate for a slash, almost made it.. :)

Hour long RIB ride out to the wreck of a freighter sunk by a german uboat in the first world war. Descent down a shot line into the murk, then cruised around on deck, poking about in the holds. There was scope for penetration, but didn't bother, the viz wasn't good enough and I wasn't familiar enough with the wreck. ND limits arrived very quickly, and only just managed to ascend in time after deploying the smb. Nice rib ride back to Plymouth along the coast of the south hams, and the house!

Out to the wreck on a boat, to just adjacent to Rennie Rocks. Descent was ok, despite the big swell. Located the boiler of the wreck easily enough, but the rest was very broken up and well dispersed. So much so that we ended up losing the "wreck", and going on a kelp safari instead, managed to locate wreckage again towards the end of the dive, no idea whether it was related or not! Strong surges at depth!

Buddied up with another buddy pair. The tide was further out so a longer scramble over the rocks in. Looped the rock to the cleft, then headed seaward through the rocks and sands, then came back in towards the rock, and past to another sandy area. Where we did a safety stop. Good dive, and well guided by russ

Ok, good viz, interesting dive. Buddy's BCD kept inflating, so returned to the surface a couple of times, and handed weight over (now 8kg). BCD problem persisted, so returned to shore with a rough surface swim. Saw kelp, sea wrasse, and starfish, a few crabs.

Post Dive Rescue Scenario: Bleeding, and OOA Responsive Diver at Depth. Giant stride off the dock by Popeye Village, followed the dock out and then picked up the anchor chain and followed it to the anchor, then cut across to the lhs of the bay, and did a cave penetration, surfaced into a grotto at the end of the cave, beyond the limit of light. Very Cool. then exited, and a very calm meander back to the dock through the shallows.

Post Dive Rescue Scenario: Unresponsive Non-breathing diver at the surface Very Calm. Swam out to the wreck at abut 10m, then descended onto the lhs of the wreck, and looped to the stern via the rail, then along the rhs rail to the bows, slight ascent to look in the bridge, and then a loop back again to behind the bridges, and ascent to look into the funnel. Very disappointed with the funnel! Then back via the Madonna statue

Post Dive Rescue Scenario: Tired Panicked Diver at Surface Descent down into the caves, in and out of the first, and then swim through the second, out into the shallows, and pottered about before returning to the swim through and past the shot line to an arch, before returning again to the shot. Very cool swim throughs.

Post Dive Rescue Scenario: Unresponsive Diver at Depth Crap buoyancy for the dive, i think i was fazed by the the imminent scenario. Descent into a vertical then horizontal cave swim through, and then though a boulder field, then return to the original cave and did it in reverse.

Rescue Diver Dives, Tired Diver, panicked diver, response from shore/boat, surfacing an unresponsive diver, unconscious diver at the surface, exiting an unconscious diver. Missing diver, distressed diver underwater, first aid for pressure related injuries, 0xygen admin, vertigo, response from shore/boat for an unresponsive diver.

Returned to the wreck on the left hand side on the stern. Penetrated the wreck, through a hole in the side, into the engine room, and across to the other side, and up an tiny internal spiral stair to the next level up. Then exited and cleared the rail and home. Wary of the sharps!

Descent through the chop, swam out past the Brass Helmet memorial plinth, and onto the ship. onto the stern and along the gangway on the side of the bridge, down in through a hold , and out through a crack resulting from the ships broken back. Then back up on deck, along by the bridge and home.

Shallow paddle out to the arch, and descended slowly to 15m through it. Beautiful views through the corridor horizontally, and upwards. Once in the open water, followed the sheer wall on the left, and then meandered back in. Shared air with pete during the safety stop.

Descent into the Blue Hole, then swim through the arch, and a clockwise swim around the leg of the large arch. Saw beautiful sheer walls, then back up through a boulder field, and the blue hole, and into the cavern at the back of it. checked weight ok with 4kg

Swam over to the arch, descended with bad buoyancy control, overweighted! Then did a few swim throughs on the way back and the odd rolypoly!used octo for a bit as the primary was free flowing a bit, fixed that then ascended the wall, and came in through the shallows

Quite Cold in the semi! Swam out to the rozi wreck, saw baby octopii on the ceiling of the bridge, and had a quick tour about, and then headed back to the shallows via the anchor. Saw the madonna statue in the cleft in the cliff, then a slow ascent

Descended down the line in a strong current, had to ascend for lost buddy, who lost the line, and descend again. Swam around the platform then onto the AFrames, and beams, doubled back at about 16m and found the old pier ladders, then came shallow, saw a pipefish, and the usual sea loch life.

Did a lost buddy drill ended up descending down a line to the platform, then kicked off to the beams inshore. Saw a massive edible crab then meandered back up through the shallows

Crap Vis down to 5m depth then cleared up. Went to the A Frames and saw a spider crab and squat lobsters, pipefish.

Pretty Cool, just meandered about the craggy and sandy bottom looking at the life. Vis wasnt too great, possibly due to the swell further out stirring it up. A long surface swim back to the boat. Missed the bit in the brief about it being a drift dive, rather than an out and back dive.. Doh!

Wall dive much the same as the previous, there was a bit more current, so was against it for the first third of the dive, but had a really cool drift dive back, lots of colourful life!

Moored up on the right hand side, lots of pulsing polyp coral, swam around to the left hand side to the coral garden, saw morays large and small, lionfish, big grouper in the blue, baby triggerfish, parrotfish, and a peppered moray.

Penetration of Holds 3 &2 on both levels, and the wheel house again. Then cruised up to the bow, and managed a drift along the port side. Saw Trucks, motorbikes, and lots of wellington boots in the hold!

The classic. Saw the Trains the tank, ammunition, swam through the rope room, captains cabin, and wheel house. Started at the stern of the exploded area, down the port side to the stern, touched the propeller for luck, then ascended on the starboard side to the front deck, and cruised along the top deck.

Night Dive, saw a feather star, cornetfish, lionfish, snake eel. Quite cool effect of another dive boats light illuminating the deck on the other side of a sandy rise. Looked a bit like a dawn! General Thomas Crown Affair chaos, with divers everywhere intercrossing with other and swapping guides etc! Fun though!!

Drif Dive. Saw a cleaner shrimp, banded dascyllus, moray eel, panther torpedo ray, emporer angelfish, parrotfish, topshell. All good, choppy surface conditions, could have done with an SMB, as the boat was quite a way off on surfacing!

Excellent swim through at the start of the dive, saw a blue spotted stingray, bluespine unicornfish, saddle grouper, napoleon wrasse, half and half chromis, horse conch, crocodile fish, and orange striped triggerfish. very cool, and happy with air consumption

Wall Drift dive, descended 10-12 m to a Fan Pinnacle, then along to a chimney, witha slight penetration inside. Along further then a switch back, saw a ghost pipefish, which is pretty rare, a moray eel, and an angel fish.

Dunraven Wreck penetration, and cruise back up through the shallow. Very cool wreck sunk in 1840. Saw a cornet fish, and a crocodile fish on ascent. Cool formation of air on the ceiling inside of the hull.

Descent on anemone city, saw blue spotted singray on descent, black angelfish, clown fish, electric blue and yellow tailed fish. Crossed the blue inbetween the reefs losing sight of one before acquiring the second. Cool cleft in shark reef, and then messed about in the shallows between yolanda and shark reef.

Lovely shallow wall dive, with a slight drift. Saw clams, yellow saddle goatfish, clownfish, snapper. mediocre air consumption, need to relax a bit. Saw a blue spotted sting ray at the safety stop in a small sandy cove.

Drift Dive again. Some Huge Gorgonian Fans, saw a moray eel, took a few photos, there were too many fish to count. Took reg out and managed to get a mouthful of sea water, with empty lungs, took a while to sort out, much coughing!

Drift Dive along Woodhouse Reef, down to the terraces. Saw Triggerfish, Butterflyfish, Angelfish, fairly quick air consumption, lots of pretty fish.

Drift Wall Dive - Awesome, lots of fish, need to go on a fish id course! Drop off to about 50m the right, wall up to 2m on the left.

13kg! Slight issue with buoyancy & trim. Saw clown fish, grouper, and butterfly fish. Cool bottom topography, leaky mask.

Better luck this time. Still missed the platform, need to mount the console better for navigation. Hit beams and meandered about until found the platform. Saw the conger eel, had a good look around the platform, and came in slow over the shallows.

Nav Experience! Missed the platform, came around, tried and missed again! Followed the contour found beams and followed them along. Saw Jelly Fish, and the usual sea loch life. Great weather, sunny and clear!

Moved 4kg back onto the belt, much better. Moved to the platform saw a jelly fish, and used the torch to light up the cycling villae, very cool. then pottered about, and visited the eel, buoyancy getting better!

Went out to the platform, and beyond to the A Frames, and saw a very large edible crab int he boxes. Had all my weight in the bcd pouches, making me top heavy, so had buoyant feet at the safety stop. Overweighted with 11kg, and got inverted at safety stop!

10kg about right! Maybe a little light towards the end of the dive. Saw a pipe fish, and razor blade shells.

12kg still too heavy. Put the Buoy out, and had a swim about! Sea Spider!

Saw Colin the Conga Eel! 13kg was still too heavy, better buoyancy though, used bcd to make up. Neck seal leak.

Saw Wrasse, hermit crabs, squat lobster, nudibranches, langustines. Saw a scallop swimming! 14kg too heavy.

Drysuit Dive. Descended onto the reef, then onto the dropoff, saw the same as before, with a few more lobsters, and a sunstar. Saw a seal at the surface!

Drysuit Dive. Quick dive, saw brittlestars, sea urchins, lobsters. Checked buoyancy and familiarised with drysuit. Loose fin sorted by buddy.

Drysuit Dive. Descended onto the wreck in near zero visibility, and pitch blackness. Dive aborted once on the wreck, thankfully, assuming I was on the wreck! Slight difficulty detaching from the wreck!

Wreck Dive 4. Saw a lionfish, pufferfish, looked under the stern, in the cargo hold, and under the fallen decking, noting points of interest and points of hazard.

Wreck Dive 3. Laid penetration line on top of the wreck, learned the benefit of simple loops, and keeping the line tight. Never to let go of the line, and the rule of thirds. Reel out is easy, reel out is not!

Wreck Dive 2. Exercise mapping the wreck, and identifying the hazards and penetration points

Deep Dive 4. Two wrecks, underwater tour based on a sloped bottom, school of travelly, scorpion fish, and nudibranch.

Deep Dive 3. Observed colour change on objects, on surface and at depth, simulated a 15min decompression stop at 5m breathing from an alternate air source.

Deep Dive 2. Observed pressure effect on an egg yolk, navigated a straight line and reciprocate 20 kicks, and used a dive computer.

Nitrox 2. Wreck dive, saw Turtle, saw clams and assorted other fish, and a Crown of Thorns Starfish. Worked on breathing 5s in, 5s out.

Multilevel 2. Cool swim throughs, and rock formations.

Nitrox 1. Night Dive, with light emitting plankton, and lionfish glow in the dark!

Wreck Dive 1. Saw Parrot Fish, 6 Banded Angel Fish, Wrasse, Damsel Fish, Moray Eel. Identified Net, Rope, and Sharp Hazards. Ballast Blocks at Stern, Bosun Post at Stern

Deep Dive 1. No speed of action change at depth, noticed reduced colour intensity, wetsuit thickness reduced, used fingers on ascent line.
